Anthropic has introduced its new Claude Opus 4.8 model. The updated version stands out with improved agentic coding performance, faster execution, and expanded capabilities for multi-agent workflows. According to the announced figures, agentic coding performance increased from 64.3% to 69.2%, while the model can operate 2.5 times faster in fast mode.
However, the most important part of this update is not only speed or performance. One of Anthropic’s key points is the model’s improved behavior around “honesty.” In other words, Claude Opus 4.8 is more likely to tell users when it is uncertain and is more cautious about making unsupported claims.
