Azerbaijan Expands Its Artificial Intelligence Ecosystem: AI Community Platform Launched

Azerbaijan has taken another important step toward the development of its artificial intelligence ecosystem. As part of the goal to build an AI community of 3,000 people, set out in Clause 8.3 of the Presidential Artificial Intelligence Strategy, the new AI Community platform has been launched.

The platform was created by the National Artificial Intelligence Center, which operates under AZCON Holding. Its main objective is to bring together AI professionals, researchers, startup representatives, students, companies, and government institutions within a single ecosystem.

AI Community is not designed merely as a platform for announcements and information sharing. Its primary focus is on continuous engagement, professional development, and creating practical opportunities for participants.

The platform offers a wide range of activities and programs, including training sessions, webinars, workshops, meetups, mentoring programs, panel discussions, and artificial intelligence competitions. This creates an environment where community members can strengthen both their theoretical knowledge and practical skills.

AI Community is not a standalone initiative. Under the same umbrella of the National Artificial Intelligence Center, the AI Academy educational center and the DataRace artificial intelligence competition platform are also operating. This approach demonstrates that the AI ecosystem is being developed through a combination of community building, education, hands-on practice, and competition.

One of the platform’s notable features is that it is not intended only for experienced professionals. Students and those taking their first steps in artificial intelligence are also provided with dedicated development opportunities. For companies, the focus includes AI implementation and talent development, while for government institutions, areas such as policy, regulation, and technology adoption are emphasized.

This initiative can be seen as an important component of Azerbaijan’s broader digital transformation strategy. Its aim is to strengthen cooperation between industry, education, the startup ecosystem, and the public sector while supporting the formation of a sustainable artificial intelligence ecosystem in the country.

The launch of AI Community represents one of the concrete steps being taken toward the systematic development of artificial intelligence in Azerbaijan and the training of a new generation of specialists in this field.
